Oleg Shuplyak and his paintings with a double bottom

One of the plots of paintings by Ukrainian artist Oleg Shuplyak is a portrait of Salvador Dali. But if the great symbolist was destined to see his work, he, for sure, would immediately nervously light a cigarette. At first glance - standard landscapes, the full content of which, precisely, is calculated precisely on the fact that the view is both the first and the second. In Ukrainian huts-mazanka, under thatched roofs, eyes hid. And not simple - Taras Shevchenko. Blacksmith Vakula saddled the devil, and through two silhouettes Gogol's portrait is seen through. Perhaps some viewers will have reason to blame the artist for national isolation, but such bias is of no use. Oleg Shuplyak grew up among such landscapes, and his fantasy from childhood was saturated with similar subjects. Why depict something else when the soul is full of Ukrainian motives?

The artist realizes himself in easel painting, he also successfully deals with church painting, but calls his surrealism surrealism. It was he who had a significant impact on his creative development, and now his elements take place in all the famous paintings. They are known as fascinating puzzles, unconventional optical illusions, paintings with a double bottom, artistically painted by the artist.

The artist has a traditional art education, received in his youth. And nowadays Oleg Shuplyak has not left academic activity. Today he teaches painting techniques in an art school. One must assume that his grateful disciples were very lucky with the teacher.
